A Swansea frog-owner has hired an animal psychologist to treat his severely traumatized pet frog after it was nearly hit by a shower of fruit last week.

More then eight thousand pieces of fruit were flung down the neighbourhood of Swansea North by a film production crew shooting a commercial for a soft drinks manufacturer.

"Warren" the frog was imported from South-East Asia and is owned by a local resident who didn't wish to be identified. It was sleeping inside a pipe outside it's owner's house when it was woken up by the clatter of thousands of pieces of fruit falling on the street.

Disorientated, it sprang from the pipe but was hit by more fruit being thrown by the advertisement's production team. It managed to dodge watermelons, apples, lemons and kiwis.

Prior to the regrettable incident apples used to be one of Warren's favourite treats. Its owner now claims that the frog closes its eyes and shivers at the sight of the fruit. It has stopped eating apples and is putting on quite a bit of weight.

Outraged by this and other inconveniences created by the commercial, local residents have set up a website that documents the mess left by the production.

Other residents have taken a more proactive attitude towards the incident, and are attempting to soften some of their losses by selling damaged items on ebay as mementos of the destruction.

Warren's psychologist has reported some improvement on the small amphibian's condition, and is hoping that the plucky pet can make a full recovery in due time.
